I scream, You scream, we all scream for…COOKIES?

Apparently, its been a while since Chips Ahoy had released new cookie flavors??

We all love the classic chocolate chip cookie and the brand Chips Ahoy is my favorite. Whenever my mom buys a box, my sisters and I finish them within two days! (Not the healthiest option, but if you know me, that’s no surprise).

My mom brought a new flavor for us to try today and it was the Ice-Cream Creation Mocha Chunky. Trying this cookie made me love it more than the original. The cookie has a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture, and the strong smell makes one feel like they’re drinking a cold cup of iced mocha. The best milk and cookie pair after Oreos.

If you are a mocha person (like me!) then I would suggest you to try this creation first and I’m sure you’ll love it as much or possibly more than I do. As for the other  flavors, I’m hoping to try them all really really soon.

Make sure to buy these at your local grocery store. You definitely don’t want to miss out on such great cookies!

One down, three to go.

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday 🙂

So in my previous blog post I promised I would blog more often, well I’m keeping up with my promise and here is my ‘highly classified’ blog post.

I write about a lot baking, and sometimes I create my own recipes. Its really fun creating recipes and being proud that its your very own, but it requires so many trials and so so many batches of failed cupcakes and cookies… :(… but the end result is definitely worth it.

Before I look for a new recipe to try out and bake, its very very important that if I’m getting a recipe off the internet, the recipe is reliable.

These are by far my favorite baking blogs and all the recipes I tried on here worked because lets be honest, how many times have you tried a new recipe that turned out to look nothing like what the picture promised?

Blog #1

sally’s baking addiction

This blog is the fantastic! Sally has amazing recipes that she has tested several times and aside form making cupcakes and cookies, she makes pizza’s and smoothies too! The food photography on this blog is so lively and she even offers some tips and tricks for food bloggers trying to get better!

I made her peanut butter cupcakes for a cupcake giveaway on my blog and the feedback I received from everyone was very positive!

Blog #2

brown eyed baker

Aside from Michelle’s (shes the brown eyed baker!) mouth watering images, another thing I adore about her blog is when she writes about her two dogs: Duke and Einstein. Michelle categorizes it as “Friday Things” where she gives weekly updates about her dogs and lists some random events going on in her life.

A recipe I’m dying to try is her Strawberry Cupcakes with Strawberry Meringue Buttercream

I’ve made Strawberry Cupcakes with White Chocolate Frosting but her recipe for the meringue looks delicious and its one that I must try!

These aren’t all of my favorite baking blogs but they are my top 2!

I’m so glad these baking blogs are reliable and It’s really important to check your baking sources because like Dantes in the Count of Monte Cristo (check my previous post to find out more about Dantes!) he needed to make sure all his sources were reliable when he listened to Caderousse’s tale (Caderousse was lying by the way…what a criminal) and then carried out his plan.

So, share with me your favorite baking blogs and do you follow the same ones as I do? Comment below if you think I’m missing out on a great baking blog 🙂 I’m always looking for great food websites.

RE:Framed: The Art of Giving (Cupcakes)

Chocolate Cupcakes with Nutella Buttercream Frosting.

Chocolate Cupcakes with Nutella Buttercream Frosting.

I felt terrible last week. I felt like I wasn’t able to reach people’s expectations, I felt unprepared for my AP European History Tests, and on top of it all, I was so shocked at our first ‘Terrible Theriault Quiz’*.

*Terrible Theriault Quiz: Quiz formulated by my honors English teacher. High chances that the student will not be able to pass with an A. Test designed to make the student feel hopeless and confused.  Some questions are there to trick you and make you feel hopeless and…(not allowed to share more test/quiz info)

So ANYWAYS, I was feeling down, and I remembered what my Accelerated Geometry teacher told the class when we were freshman:

“If you are ever having a bad day, do something good for someone, and see how much better it makes you feel”

On Monday, I brought My Ultimate Chocolate Cupcake recipe (will post soon) with my signature Nutella Buttercream frosting.

Everyone I gave it to really loved it, and kept saying “ZAINAB THESE ARE SERIOUSLY AMAZING!”

My favorite comment was from Kayleen who said:

The cupcakes from today were so good. The frosting was amazing. Maybe one day you should give me the recipe or make me a tub of it if you don’t want to give my the recipe. I could eat the frosting by itself it’s so good. thanks for sharing!

Thanks Kayleen! And I’ll definitely post the recipe for the Nutella Buttercream since it seems to be a favorite among all my cupcake tasters!

One of my friends was actually quite sad today and after giving her the cupcake, it put a smile on her face and that made me happy. Happiness is so contagious.

I think the cupcake liners for the cupcakes are so cute! They match the frosting and the background.

This recipe was my best yet and I realized that when I’m usually feeling down, I bake. I always bake. It’s what keeps me going and helps me feel better.

Yes I need to study, and the good part of the ‘Terrible Theriault Quiz’ is that I think I’m understanding how to study for them! Sure they are always capricious, but not COMPLETELY impossible. I actually got a really good score on the test we took on Friday, and we have another one this upcoming Thursday. I am prepared to ACE it 🙂
